It will solve water problem by constructing roof to rain water harvest tanks to increase access to clean water and protect teenage girls who trek to distant water sources from rape, unwanted pregnancies, early marriage and school drops.
Sanitary pads for teenage girls
Providing sanitary pads to teenage school girls is a controversial subjects in Uganda. In 2016 election campaign, the Uganda president pledged to buy reusable sanitary pads for girls in need.
The government estimates that 30% of Uganda girls from poor families miss school because of lacking reusable sanitary towels. Later on first lady who is also minister of education told parliament didn’t have enough funding for the president $44 million initiative.
It’s very difficult for teenage girls to stay in public without having these pads. Founder say so when we are looking forward to have our own sewing machine to start making them by ourselves. When this idea is fulfilled of making pads we will be assured that it’s sustainable.
